I shouldn't be surprised, but I was holding out hope that they would come to their senses and actually choose the Church over politics, actually require their school president to obey his superiors (like, for instance, his bishop). But alas, Notre Dame has done it again. They have shown once again where their true loyalties lie, and it is not with the Catholic Church.
The Board of Trustees has voted to give Fr. Jenkins five more years as President of the university, praising him for his commitment to the faith.
Here's the list of Trustees, which is made up of priests of the Congregation of the Holy Cross as well as lay men and women.
Shame on every single one of them.
Conveniently for them, ND's website gives no address for contacting this illustrious Board.
(I need to find me a Notre Shame t-shirt or something.)
